Molecular Imaging North Competence Center (MOIN CC)

The Molecular Imaging North Competence Center (MOIN CC) is a central facility for pre-clinical imaging at the Faculty of Medicine and Kiel University (CAU). It was set up in 2010 with financial support from the  European Regional Development Fund, the state of Schleswig-Holstein, the Faculty of Medicine and Kiel University.

The purpose and objective of the interdisciplinary team is to prepare and develop current methods in in vivo imaging. Using modern, multi-modal imaging techniques (optical processes, magnetic resonance tomography and spectroscopy, sonography, computer tomography) and the development of functionalised contrast agents in addition to liposomal delivery systems, scientists at MOIN CC are working on fundamental biomedical research topics and translational medicine.

We are a central unit which provides internal support to all staff, students and researchers at Kiel University, and also to our external partners in the use of pre-clinical in vivo imaging for their research projects.
