  • Prof. Dr. Christof Dörfer

The Department of Dental Preservation and Periodontics consists of five clinical subject areas: endodontology, cariology and preventive dentistry, paediatric and adolescent dentistry, periodontics and restorative and cosmetic dentistry. All treatment measures are integrated in prevention programmes. This is in order to ensure the sustained success rate of the treatment and to break through the predominantly chronic stages of the conditions.

A combination of traditional and innovative teaching concepts is used. Classic courses are converted into modular system that is managed by syllabus of learning objectives.

The focus in research is on the prevention and treatment of tooth caries and periodontitis and on their impacts on general health.
